Frequently Asked Questions
- 01Our AAU basketball program is open to girls only in grades 2nd through 8th. Team availability may vary depending on registration numbers.
- 02No, previous basketball experience is not required. We welcome players of all skill levels who are willing to learn, work hard, and be part of a team. Players will be evaluated during tryouts and placed on a team that best fits their current skill level and development needs.
- 03The total program fee is can range from $200 to $750 per player per season. Families will receive a full cost breakdown before committing to the program.
- 04The program fee includes uniform package, gym rental for practices, tournament entry fees, and end of year banquet/team outing.
- 05The uniform package includes a reversible uniform set, a backpack, 2 under shirts, and a headband. Players are be responsible for bringing/purchasing basketball shoes.
- 06Yes, payment plans are available to help families manage the cost of the season. Limited financial assistance may also be available based on need and available funding. Please contact Coach Ty (313)434-3885 for additional information.
- 07Teams typically practice 2-3 times per week at locations in or near Metro Detroit area. Practice days and times may vary depending on gym, player, and parent availability.
- 08Each team is expected to participate in approximately 6-8 weekends during the season. The number of games played will depend on tournament/league formats.
- 09All events will be held locally within a 90 min drive. Out-of-town tournaments is dependent on the team skill level and parent interest/availability.
- 10The Winter season runs from approximately December through the end of March. The Spring/Summer season runs from approximately April through the end of July. The Fall season runs from approximately September through the end of November. A complete practice and tournament schedule will be provided once teams are finalized.
- 11Players are expected to attend all practices, games, and tournaments. Families should notify the coach as early as possible when a player will be absent. Repeated unexcused absences may affect playing time or the player’s position on the team.
- 12Program fees are generally nonrefundable after teams are selected and expenses have been committed. Refund requests involving injuries or special circumstances will be reviewed individually. Processing fees, uniform costs, and tournament fees already paid may not be refundable.
